Guideline for Appropriate Submission of Paper to Avoid Multiple Submissions

Original papers	Original papers submitted to printed journals or the electronic journals	Subjected to the Judgement of Multiple Submissions	・The appropriate citing is required in order not to be regarded as the Multiple Submissions. ・In the submission of paper to Mater. Trans., the paper copy which has the partial overlap with it is required to be attached. ・When there are over 1/3 overlaps in the main text, figures, abstract or conclusions without appropriate citing, there is a possibility of being regarded as the Multiple Submissions.
Papers submitted to the closed publication	Closed publication examples; ・Books or journals which has no ISBN or ISSN number. ・Domestic publications which is not collected in the National Diet Library in Japan. ・Reports for internal organization. ・Electronic publications which is not disclosed on web site.	Not subjected to the Judgement of Multiple Submissions	The paper, which is disclosed on the Web at the time of submission to Mater. Trans., is subjected to the Multiple Submissions judgment, even if it is closed later.
Papers submitted to the limited publication	Limited publication examples; ・International conference proceedings which has no ISBN or ISSN number ・Documents distributed to only participants of the lecture and research society ・Master thesis and bachelor thesis	In principle, not subjected to the Judgement of Multiple Submissions	・The appropriate citing is required in order not to be regarded as the Multiple Submissions.
Papers submitted to disclosure publication which does not contain original papers.	Examples of Disclosure publication which does not contain original papers. ・Abstract for the domestic annual meeting. ・Abstract for the International Conference under 2 printed pages. ・Reports for the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research or other governmental fund reports. ・Doctoral Thesis. ・JIM research society report and JIM chapter business report.	In principle not subject to the Judgement of Multiple Submissions	・In case it is clear whether it is regarded as original paper or not, the appropriate citing is required in order not to be regarded as the Multiple Submissions. ・In case of the abstract of international conferences or symposiums, attachment of them is required at the submission to Mater. Trans.
Papers submitted to the disclosure publication which possibly contains original papers	・To submit paper to Mater. Trans. based on the published Japanese paper in J. Japan Inst. Met. Mater. within one year of the publication in the J. Japan Inst. Met. Mater.	Based on the submission rule of Mater.Trans., it is exceptionally admitted.	・In the submission of paper to Mater. Trans., the paper copy which has the partial overlap with it is required to be attached. ・The editor indicates the information on original paper at the footnote of Mater. Trans.
	・Submitted paper to a company technical report or a university bulletin which partially contains original papers.	To be investigated each case in the Editorial Committee.	・The appropriate citing is required in order not to be regarded as the Multiple Submissions. ・In the submission of paper to Mater. Trans., the paper copy which has the partial overlap with it is required to be attached.
	・Submitted paper to JIM hosted International Conference or Symposium Proceedings.	・Judgment standards of Multiple Submissions is lightened. ・To be investigated as the case in the Editorial Committee.	・The appropriate citing is required in order not to be regarded as the Multiple Submissions. ・In the submission of paper to Mater. Trans., the paper copy which has the partial overlap with it is required to be attached.
